At its core is a golden Sankofa bird, an Akan symbol meaning “go back and get it rendered with elegant simplicity. The dark canvas surrounding it is etched with Adinkra symbols, evoking ancestral wisdom and the idea that understanding our past is essential to shaping our future. Inspired by the Sankofa proverb, this work sets the philosophical tone for the entire collection: a call to retrieve cultural memory and reclaim identity through the power of heritage.
